As part of the Woodford Festival the The Meljon Singers under the Musical Director - Janette Ruocco performed in the synagogue

The concert was entitled LE CHAIM! TO LIFE!

The ensemble sang music by Jewish composers including Adon Olum and Ein Keloheinu and their contemporaries.

Other music included a piece by Aaron Copland and Benjamin Britten

To conclude there were 3 lighter number Over the Rainbow, Lets do it and Tea for Two.

The synagogue was almost full with about 140 people present. During the interval there was wine and danish pastries which was served outside. It was a beautiful, warm Autum evening.

The Meljon Singers coupled with the siund quality offered by the building was truly amazing. The sudued lighting gave a wonderful feel to the evening in general.

We hope that they will come back next year. In the mean time you can see them perform throuout the year by following the link below.
