Summary
Our Vision
Our vision is of a proud, self-confident Jewish community, with a centre of gravity that is
egalitarian, outward-looking and open to change:
. We are committed to learning, as a basis for understanding our beliefs, values and
tradition and for engaging with them in the context of our lives today.
. We value the contribution that all members of our community are able to make,
regardless of gender, race, disability or sexual orientation.
. We welcome all those that wish to join or join in with our Jewish community.
. We act to take responsibility for our neighbours and our planet.
. We are open to change to re-engage those that might otherwise be lost to Judaism.

The Rabbi’s Discretionary Fund will be under the control of the Rabbi and monitored by the Honorary Treasurer. The Rabbi Becker’s Discretionary Fund shall comply with all relevant tax & charity laws. Gift Aid received directly from donors shall be applied to the fund.
The synagogue may set aside funds each year from its budget and apply them to the RDF.

Sukkat Shalom Reform Synagogue – Kashrut Policy
We acknowledge that sharing food is an important part of the Jewish religious experience. Our synagogue kitchen which is on the Bimah area is in regular use, for Shabbat and festival Kiddushim, events, hireings and for small and large-scale meals. It is therefore important that all food brought into and prepared in the synagogue, in the synagogue kitchen and the cheder block is kosher and that it conforms to the Jewish dietary laws. The rules are simple and straightforward.
