Empathy

Empathy Logo.jpg

EMPATHY is an independent free service offering counselling to members of Jewish families who are struggling to come to terms with the end of a relationship, be it a marriage or partnership.

EMPATHY recognises that when a relationship ends the effects are felt not only by the couple themselves but also by their parents and children.

What does EMPATHY Counselling offer?

A regular time and place to talk, be listened to, heard and understood. An opportunity to explore emotional difficulties. A non-directive and non-judgemental approach with a counsellor who enables self understanding and personal growth.

Counselling can help you to cope with a crisis. It can also help you to clarify, express and explore your thoughts and feelings, so that you can arrive at your own decisions.

How volunteering can be a win-win situation in the current economic climate

Jewish Care.jpeg

When we think of a volunteer, we may automatically conjure the vision of a middle-aged, middle-class woman serving tea or visiting someone less fortunate than themselves.

However, today volunteering is far away from this idea. Volunteering is a way of enhancing the work of an organisation, whether being hands on with its clients, fundraising, working alongside staff in head office or sitting on a consultative group.

Even though we now have a Rabbi it is sometimes difficult to provide good support and help to members of the community.

There are a number of volunteers in the community that will help if we are made aware of any problems.

So.....if you know of a member who is ill or in hospital or needs help of any kind please contact the Synagogue Administrator through the Synagogue office on 020 8530 3345 or by e-mail at admin@sukkatshalom.org.uk.

All matters are handled in the strictest confidence.
